Calabash Elks Bring Christmas Cheer to Local Families
The Calabash Elks Children's Christmas Party was held on December 18th, making the holiday season brighter for 39 Brunswick County families. Approximately 82 children and 40 adults were treated to hot dogs, pizza, soda and ice cream in the Elks Lodge social hall, followed by a visit from Santa who distributed toys, clothes and holiday food baskets. Each family left with the fixings for a Christmas turkey dinner.

Calabash Elks Lodge 2679 held several fund raising events
throughout the fall in order to provide the party, and received major
support from Lowes Food in Little River as well as a generous donation
from Back Porch Ice Cream in Calabash. Local school personnel assisted
by helping identify families who had fallen on difficult times and needed
some extra holiday help.
