Hope Harbor, a shelter for battered and abused women, dedicated its new kitchen which was rebuilt by the Calabash Elks using funds obtained through an Impact Grant from the ENF. The remodeling included shoring up and replacing the floor, installing new cabinets, removing a wall to make better use of space and improving the general appearance of the kitchen. Hope Harbor President said "This was completed beyond our expectations and could not have been accomplished without the generousity of the Elks." Pictured L-R are Elks project co-ordinator Bill Lewis, Hope Harbor President and Lodge Chaplain Juanita Adams, and project general contractor PER Darius Lewellyn. |

THE VETERANS ANNUAL FLEA MARKET
The Veterans Affairs Committee had another Great event on Saturday June
5th at the Lodge! The annual Flea Market! The veterans committee collected
tons of stuff from all around. The Lodge was packed with prospective buyers
and lookers. Many bargains were found and carted away. By all accounts
everyone had a great time and lots of money was raised in support of the
good work our Veterans Committee does for the VETs. |
