The Calabash Elks Lodge recently set up the Elks Drug
Awareness trailer during its annual Veterans Flea Market to help educate
the youth of the community against the dangers of drug abuse.
Pictured are Natalie and Whitney Moore along with Elmo the Elk. Many children, parents and grandparents took the opportunity to gather information. |

The Calabash Elks Lodge participated in the annual Memorial
Day ceremony held at the Calabash Fire Station along with many other local
organizations. After the raising of the Flag all WWII and Korean war veterans
were asked to stand and be recognized, the oldest veteran present enlisted
in 1918. Exalted Ruler Teddy Acton was recognized and spoke to the assembled
crowd (pic 003). The guest speaker was Congressman Mike Mcintyre. (pic

On June 4, 2011 Mark and Rini Segar, Mike Jennelle, Don and Gerri Cherry and John and Kathy Toscani stood in front of the Shallotte Walmart from 9-1 and handed out Tootsie Pops. $493.75 was raised for the Calabash Elks 2679 Disaster Relief Fund.
