Exalted Ruler's Message Exalted Ruler's Message February 2010 February is a short month, but there are plenty of activities planned. The first priority is our membership meeting on Wednesday, February 10th. Our Past Exalted Rulers will be in charge of running this meeting and nominations will be taken at this time for the 2010-2011 Election of Officers. Please attend and take an active part in your Lodge. The Election of Officers will take place on Wednesday, February 24th. This is an important meeting and I urge you to attend and have your voice heard. In January, a motion was brought up on the floor to ban smoking in Calabash Lodge #2679. This motion was tabled until all members are officially notified of the voting date, which will be Wednesday, March 10th. IF PASSED IT BECOMES EFFECTIVE APRIL1, 2010. This motion will have an effect on the entire Lodge, so again, it is important for you to attend and voice your opinion. Friday, February 12th, is our Valentine's Day Dinner Dance with "Steve & Alyce" providing entertainment. Tickets are on sale in the Lounge. On Saturday, February 13th, I will be traveling to Greensboro with two Hoop Shoot winners, representing the Calabash Lodge in the NC State Hoop Shoot Finals. Hayden Grimes and Dylan Howard both won in their respective divisions in the Eastern District. Great job, gentlemen! There will be a Dinner and Art Show on Friday, February 19th. Last, and very important, is our annual Jim Rochel Ice Box Open Golf Tournament on Saturday, February 27th. Check for more information in the Lounge. Ladies Auxiliary Ladies Auxiliary for February Well ladies not too much going on this month, I guess we are still getting over the holidays. Juanita was our speaker and I think we learned a lot about Hope Harbor, a lot of questions were asked and answered. Thanks Juanita. Don't forget our fashion show on Monday 2/1, should be a good time. Our next meeting will be on 2/17, at 7 p.m. Our nomination committee will be calling trying to fill a new board. It would be nice to get some new faces and ideas on the board. Please volunteer, it's not a hard job. Betty
