Lodge Ladies Auxiliary News

August 2010
Summer is going quickly. Hope you all are having a great one! We had a good turnout for the July meeting. It was nice seeing returning members. We also initiated two new members: Donnamarie Miller and Joanne Adams. Welcome to our organization.
Tickets for the Card Party at Ryans on September 21 from 11 AM - 3 PM are available from Rose Henshaw (755-0126). Donations for the raffle would also be appreciated.
We are assembling an Italian theme basket to raffle prior to the Elks Italian Dinner on 10-22-2010. It will be on display at the bar beginning the middle of September. Tickets can be purchased at the bar. Contact Marylynne Blue (575-8188) or Yvonne Lowrie (579-9386) if you have a contribution to the basket or want information.
A day trip to Charleston is planned for November 13, 2010. You will travel by bus and spend the day in Charleston. The price ($65 per person) also includes a full luncheon, Tea Plantation visit, Trolley ride and time to shop in the market area. This is one of our most popular activities, so call Marge Reeks (579-3856) now for your reservation. Thanks to Marge and Wendy Voorhees for making all the arrangements.
Another great trip is available to the Duplin Winery on December 10, 2010. The price of $70 per person includes bus transportation, wine tasting, full dinner and show. For information and reservations please contact Elaine Southard (575-0536).
The Auxiliary has decided to host a 5th Sunday Pancake Breakfast on January 31, 2010. So look for further notices and mark your calendar so you can join us.
Some Auxiliary members are on the Hope Harbor Fund Raising Dinner/Dance committee. It is a program that serves families in Brunswick County who are victims of domestic violence. The dinner/dance last year was one of the most elegant affairs held at the Lodge and it will be just as special this year. We hope you will support a most worthy charity by attending and supporting the dinner to be held on November 5, 2010.
It is wonderful to see our members so actively involved this year. I do so treasure all of you who have volunteered and attended meetings. We are also enjoying the partnership we have with the Lodge members and look forward to the upcoming activities that we are participating in with them. Together we can succeed in our missions.

Respectfully,
Deb O'Brien
President Ladies Auxiliary
